With the retirement of our current Tufts in China Resident Director, Jay, the Tufts in China program will be saying goodbye to Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. Jay has dedicated many years to the students of Tufts in China and he will be greatly missed. The fall 2017 Tufts in China at Zhejiang University is currently in Hangzhou taking language and cultural courses.

With this change, comes another big change. The Tufts in China program will officially move to Beijing, with the first cohort attending in the fall of 2018. The program itself will assume the name Tufts in Beijing as well. Our partner institution, Beijing Normal University, is highly acclaimed and will offer students a myriad opportunities academically and culturally. With more than 10,000 students, and over 1,800 being international, BNU will offer Tufts students a great experience to interact with students from all over the world. Students will be able to take intensive language courses and culture courses taught in English. There will be volunteer and internship opportunities in Beijing, and a study-tour program that enables extensive cultural exploration and the opportunity to learn about China

We are pleased to announce the new Resident Director for Tufts in Beijing, Zhu Zhi-ping. She will be visiting campus in the spring semester of 2018 to meet with the students who will be joining the program. She has worked with students studying abroad from the U.S. in the past and will be a great support to our students while they are in Beijing.
